Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water systems, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked energy facilities, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, according to local officials.
