Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev secured his first championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former number one, has endured a difficult season, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Currently working with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually improved in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents his maiden title following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface after that period of 2023.

Victory also means he has achieved 21 championships at 21 various competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving play style and frequent reactions on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and play positively, supported by an improved serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the final five games to go ahead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.

The opponent defended four early chances in a close deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
